Parent and Carers Event: Wednesday 18th March 2026: 1745-2020
The Safe and Empowered: Supporting Our Children Online and Beyond event is a drop in parental interaction and information session designed to strengthen digital resilience and wellbeing among children and young people. Through interactive activities, expert-led discussions, and practical demonstrations, the session provides parents with tools and knowledge to navigate online risks, promote healthy digital relationships and support psychological resilience in an increasingly digital world.
Purpose
This event aims to:
- Empower families to use digital tools safely and effectively, including the Safer Schools Scotland app.
- Promote cyber resilience by showcasing how schools and communities work together to protect and educate children online.
- Support wellbeing and brain health by exploring research on mental health in digital contexts.
- Foster collaboration between parents, educators, and local services to create a safe, inclusive digital environment in line with PKC’s Digital Strategy priorities:
- Digital Inclusion – ensuring all families can access and understand digital resources.
- Cyber Security & Resilience – equipping communities with knowledge to mitigate online risks.
- Empowering Communities – using technology to strengthen relationships and wellbeing.
